Though the white iPhone 4 may only now be making its way to retail, Apple’s development of its successor is well underway, and is expected to be formally announced later this year. In fact, for much of the first half of 2011, it seemed like the iPhone might be on the wane and it would be Android’s year, as report after report chronicled Android’s growth. Interestingly, someone who claimed to have seen a larger-screened White iPhone 5 prototype said in November 2011 that Steve Jobs canned the new handset and opted for the iPhone 4S because of the larger screen size of the new device. Better yet, the device is sporting what it claims to be a “test build” of iOS 5.
